Julia Fiona Roberts is the daughter of Betty Lou Bredemus, and Walter Grady Roberts. She was born on 28 October 1967 in Atlanta. She belongs to the fourth generation of Robertses to live in the Atlanta area beginning in the family of her grand-father John Pendleton Roberts a farmer. At an early age, her father became interested in theater. While a student in Emory University in 1952 he acted in productions on campus and in Atlanta. After he enlisted in the Air Force in Biloxi, he was seen together with Betty Lou Bredemus in Biloxi. Eric Anthony was their first born. The couple was married in the year. Walter went to Tulane University at New Orleans In 1957, the city of Louisiana where the couple had left the US Air Force. In 1960 the family moved to Decatur Georgia where Walter began working for Atlanta's Academy Theater and the Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. Walter and Betty Lou started production in 1964 for the local children's Saturday morning show on television called Bum Bum and His Buddies, which they funded themselves. Later that year they founded The Actors and Writers Workshop which operated for a period of six years. In 1965, they welcomed two new children: Lelisa Billingsley and Julia Billingsley.
