Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American Canadian singer and songwriter. Her catalog includes more than 20 albums. DiFranco describes her music under the terms folk-rock and alternative. But it includes influences like hip-hop, punk and jazz. Ani DiFranco, widely regarded as an icon of women's rights, and Grammy award-winning musician is thought to be the founder in DIY music. It was one of the very first musicians to launch her own label in the year 90. DiFranco's parents were Elizabeth (Ross), a previous student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dante Americo DiFranco met each other while they were students at the same school.
